NOMETERMeal photo journal

A calmer way to log meals, with company built in

One photo. A useful estimate of your meal.

Nometer is a food journal that uses AI to estimate calories, fat, protein, and carbs from a meal photo. Review the result before you save it, share what you choose with friends, or talk through today’s plan with Nanami.

Nothing is saved until you review it

A photo can only provide an estimate. We make that uncertainty clear.

HOW NOMETER SUPPORTS YOU

Start with a photo. Make food logging feel lighter.

The flow stays simple: estimate, review, save. When you want company, a friend or Nanami can answer back.

01

Photo estimate

Point at your plate. AI reads the foods and portions, then estimates calories and the three core macros.

One meal photo to begin
02

Review and respond

Check the result before saving. If something looks off, describe it and let AI analyze the whole meal again.

Feedback in, a fresh estimate out
03

Friends, not rankings

Share only the meals you choose and let a small response hold space for each other’s effort.

No leaderboards or comparison
04

Nanami AI

Talk through what you ate and what comes next, with gentle, practical help organizing your thoughts.

Companionship over judgment

A REAL MEAL-LOGGING FLOW

The photo is only the beginning.

An estimate is a starting point, not a verdict. Nometer keeps you in control and makes each step easy to understand.

  1. 01

    Photograph your meal

Take or upload a photo so the app can read the foods and approximate portions.

  2. 02

    See the estimate

Review calories, fat, protein, carbs, and the range of uncertainty.

  3. 03

    Respond, then save

Describe what looks wrong, let AI re-analyze the meal, and save when the new result feels right.

If it looks wrong, ask AI to look again.

AI cannot see hidden oil, sauces, or exact weight. You do not edit its result directly; describe the issue and Nometer will analyze the whole meal again before you save.

THE SAME PHOTO LOG, A DIFFERENT PRODUCT CHOICE

Other products offer more numbers. We want every number to be more honest.

We do not treat feature count as the answer. Photo recognition has limits, and lasting change takes more than data. That is why Nometer makes different choices about information, accuracy, correction, and companionship.

Friends and Nanami respond to each log

We do not want to be the food app with the most numbers. We want to be the one most honest with numbers and most gentle with people.

RECOGNITION THAT KEEPS EVOLVING

Never lock the product to a single model.

AI capability moves quickly. We continuously evaluate frontier models released within the previous six months against real meal photos, and only switch when the results are genuinely better.

BEYOND THE LOG

Changing habits is hard. You do not have to do it alone.

A photo makes tracking easier; relationships make it easier to continue. There are no public rankings and no prizes for eating less.

Keep going with people you trust

Share a meal and leave a small response. You choose what others see, and private can stay private.

Talk it through with Nanami

Sort out today’s food, feelings, and next step. Nanami will not shame or rush you, and never replaces professional care.

You did enough for today. We can take the next meal one step at a time.

NOW, OUR STORY

First the product. Then why we made it.

We are Team Nanami, a small startup working across cities and time zones. Nometer is our second product. The way we work gives us room to choose the technology that genuinely fits the product and to improve recognition quickly when better models arrive.

Plenty of apps estimate calories from a photo. But if recognition is weak at the source, elaborate analysis only magnifies the error. We would rather keep improving the essential estimate, say what it cannot know, and bring real human care back into the experience.

Read our product principles

THREE THINGS WE PROTECT

Less false precision. More honest usefulness.

Meal-photo recognition will always carry uncertainty. Naming its limits is part of building a responsible health product.

01Models

Never lock recognition to one model

We continuously evaluate frontier models released within the previous six months against real meal photos. When a newer model performs better, we switch instead of leaving the product tied to its launch-era model.

02Information

Stay focused on four numbers

Calories, fat, protein, and carbs are enough to show the outline of a meal. We do not pile complex conclusions on uncertain source data.

03Relationships

Let each log receive a response

Friends and Nanami are not decorative extras. Long-term change is easier when effort is seen and understood.

ONLY WHAT HELPS

Four numbers to sketch the shape of a meal.

Every result is an estimate—not a diagnosis, and never a reason to be unkind to yourself.

Ingredients, portion size, cooking method, and image quality can all change the result.

FAQ

Accuracy, privacy, and companionship.

01How accurate can a meal photo be?

A photo cannot reveal exact weight, hidden ingredients, or cooking oil, so the result can only be a range. Nometer makes uncertainty visible and re-analyzes the whole meal when you submit feedback.

02Why not add more health scores?

Derived analysis cannot be more reliable than its source. We would rather do four basic estimates well than use complicated scores to create false confidence.

03Can friends see every meal I log?

No. You decide which meals to share and with whom, or you can keep everything private. Support should reduce pressure, not add to it.

04Can Nanami give medical advice?

No. Nanami can help you reflect on records, habits, and plans, but does not diagnose or replace a doctor, registered dietitian, or other professional.

ONE SMALL PHOTO. A JOURNEY WITH AN ANSWER.

The numbers are a reference. The company is what stays.

Take a photo, then get on with eating. Nometer is here to make logging a small daily habit—not another source of body anxiety.
