Models keep moving
When a more reliable model arrives, we reassess the pipeline instead of turning an old model into permanent infrastructure.
TEAM NANAMI · PRODUCT 02
Calories from a photo will always be an estimate. We do not dress uncertainty up as exact science—or let one number turn a meal into anxiety. We keep improving the four numbers worth using.
You're doing well—keep going!

NANAMI · AI COMPANIONProtein looks steady today. Want a lighter dinner?MEET NANAMI · YOUR COMPANION
Nanami helps you log a meal, listens when you want to talk, and notices every small step forward. Weight loss is hard enough, so there is no judging and no rushing—just warm company that makes today feel a little more doable.
01 · OUR STORY
We are Team Nanami, a startup team developing products from locations across different countries and regions. This working setup gives us the flexibility to choose the frontier models that genuinely fit the product and to update recognition faster. Nometer is our second product.
There are already many photo calorie apps. Most are not meaningfully different. The difference that matters begins at the source: recognition quality. When the input is weak, a beautiful analysis framework only makes the error look more convincing.
We began with a simple question: if an estimate cannot be perfectly accurate, how can the product be more honest?
Core recognition prioritizes strong frontier models released within the previous six months, with continuous evaluation and replacement.
Weight loss is hard and lonely. Friends and an AI companion make every daily log feel acknowledged.
02 · WHAT WE BELIEVE
We will not manufacture a feeling of control with endless charts. Honesty about estimation is a basic duty for a health product.
When a more reliable model arrives, we reassess the pipeline instead of turning an old model into permanent infrastructure.
Calories, fat, protein and carbs. Without trustworthy source data, we do not show impressive-looking derivative conclusions.
Portion size, cooking and hidden ingredients change the result. We show a useful range, never a diagnosis.
03 · THE PRODUCT
Logging should feel light. Support should feel real. Nometer connects recognition, friends and an AI companion in one daily path.
Point at your plate. Nometer identifies food and portion size, then estimates calories and macros as a range. Make a quick correction before saving.
Share only the meals you choose with close friends. There is no public leaderboard and no competition to eat less—just small responses that make effort feel seen.
Talk through today's meals and the next step in your plan with Nanami. She helps organize your thinking; she does not replace a doctor or dietitian.
04 · BUILT FOR REAL LIFE
A model output is a starting point, not a verdict. Nometer keeps confirmation, privacy and real-life context in your hands.
Every AI result goes through a review screen. Adjust the food, portion or four numbers; nothing is logged until you confirm it.
Personal food and health data stays device-first. Only the moments you choose can enter your friends feed.
Log meals on iPhone and bring in weight, workouts and sleep with Apple Watch. They can ground your daily budget without becoming a wall of invented AI scores.
05 · FOUR NUMBERS
Four numbers are enough to see the shape of a day. Each stays an estimate instead of being sold as an absolute answer.

A photo cannot reveal exact weight, hidden ingredients or cooking oil. Nometer therefore estimates a range, communicates uncertainty and lets you correct the result quickly.
Derived analysis cannot be better than its source data. We would rather improve four fundamental estimates than build confidence around an elaborate but fragile score.
No. You choose what to share, who can see it, and whether to share at all. The feature is designed for support, not pressure.
No. It helps discuss food logs, habits and plans. It does not diagnose or replace a doctor, registered dietitian or other professional.
